Under general supervision, police officers patrol an assigned beat and investigate incidents in the enforcement of law and order in the protection of life and property. Applications will be used to fill current vacancies and to form an eligibility list for future reference.
Recruit officer’s starting wage: $16.46 per hour and $17.12 after one year of employment. Yearly pay increases with 12 year step plan. Lateral entry available based on experience. No experience is necessary. We will train qualified recruits!
Qualifications and requirements: High School diploma or GED, U.S. Citizenship, 21 years of age, no felony convictions or domestic violence history or convictions, valid driver’s license and good driving record. The City of Dodge City is accepting applications for part-time transportation bus drivers as we prepare to implement fixed route bus service. Applicants must have excellent customer service skills, possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and a Commercial Drivers’ License (CDL) with Passenger Endorsement before date of hire. Drivers must be able to pass a background check, and be available to work flexible weekday hours. New hours of operation for the transportation system when the fixed route service starts will be weekdays 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Random drug testing performed throughout employment. Bilingual skills strongly preferred but not required. Starting pay is $11 per hour. Part-time City benefit package may apply to this position after at least 60 days of employment, which includes single City health insurance plan.
