Under general supervision, police officers patrol an assigned beat and investigate incidents in the enforcement of law and order in the protection of life and property.  Applications will be used to fill current vacancies and to form an eligibility list for future reference.

Recruit officer’s starting wage:  $16.46 per hour and $17.12 after one year of employment.  Yearly pay increases with 11 year step plan.  Lateral entry available based on experience.  No experience is necessary.  We will train qualified recruits!

The City of Dodge City is seeking a committed, experienced person to join our team in the Construction/Parks Department.

This full-time position performs manual labor which will involve assisting in the Construction Dept. with building maintenance/construction projects, and other duties as assigned in the Park Dept., along with snow/ice removal in winter months.  This job requires physical work including lifting and manipulating up to 50 lbs, and performing these duties in all types of weather.  Requires a minimum of one year of general mechanical, building maintenance (construction or handyman experience) and/or grounds maintenance experience.

Hiring range for position is $11.44 – $19.50 per hour, with full-time benefit package, DOQ.  Position works 40 hours per work and is classified non-exempt.

The City of Dodge City, KS is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Business Development Coordinator in the Economic Development Dept. Wage range for this position is $35,100 – $54,362 annually, DOQ, plus full City benefit package. Position reports to the Director of Economic Development and works in the Dodge City/Ford County Development Corporation office.   Position is responsible for recruiting, retaining and expanding business in the Ford County area; facilitating the Star Bond program; and facilitating all phases of business development including promotion of the community, business retention and retail recruitment.

A Bachelor’s degree in Business/Organizational Management or related field is desired, or related combination of job experience and education with preference for three (3) years progressive experience in public sector related to Economic Development; experience with Adobe, Microsoft Office, and web site maintenance; and a valid Kansas driver license with good driving record is required.

We are seeking committed and collaborative talent to join our team.  The City of Dodge City is accepting applications for part-time bus drivers for immediate hire to fulfill needs in our expanding public transportation service.  Applicants must have excellent customer service skills, possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and a Commercial Drivers’ License (CDL) with Passenger Endorsement before date of hire. Drivers must be able to pass a background check, and be available to work flexible weekday hours.  Hours of operation for the transportation system are weekdays 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Random drug testing performed throughout employment.
