The City of Dodge City is seeking to fill a regular part-time clerk position in the Probation Office.  Position assist the Probation Officer and probationers, and requires frequent contact with the public in which considerable tact and patience are required.  Position requires a high degree of confidentiality.  Duties include, but are not limited to, first line customer assistance, answering phones, translating from Spanish to English/English to Spanish as needed, clerical responsibilities and general probation/court functions. Must be able to lift and manipulate up to 10 pounds and operate a computer and other office equipment.  Weekday hours of 20-29 hours per week, with ability to work on scheduled court days required.

Starting wage for the position is $11.44 per hour, DOQ, plus part-time City benefit package, which includes single health/dental insurance, KPERS, part-time vacation, sick leave and holiday pay.

The City of Dodge City is accepting applications for a full time Support Services Technician in the Police Department. Hours are 11:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m. Starting wage rate for the position is: $12.02 per hour, plus shift differential of $.50 per hour.   Position receives City benefit package, which include single/family health insurance, KPERS, vacation, sick leave and holiday pay.

Under general supervision, position is responsible for assisting officers with retrieval of information from databases; large volume of data entry; filing; and communicating, reviewing and maintaining records and reports. Maintenance Worker I, Street Department – Position performs manual labor in the repair, maintenance and minor construction of City streets and storm drainage systems; removal of snow/ice; and other duties as assigned.

Maintenance Worker I, Utilities Dept. —Position is responsible for all repair, maintenance and minor construction of the water and sewer systems within the City of Dodge City. Duties will include but are not limited to installation of hydrants and services, repairs water lines, rods sewers, maintains chemical levels, cleans and maintains equipment, and meter reading. Position has some interaction with the public, so good customer service skills are required. On-call duties required after training period.

The City of Dodge City is currently hiring 26-week and 12-week seasonal workers in the Parks, Forestry, Cemetery, Golf and Athletic Field Maintenance divisions to begin work between April – June, 2016.  Work involves a variety of manual labor in the maintenance and care of parks, landscaping, athletic fields, and City facilities.   Duties include mowing, trimming, general custodial duties and more.
