We are searching for a seasonal assistant kitchen manager to help our kitchen manager oversee the operations of our establishment’s kitchen staff from May to September. As the assistant kitchen manager, you will assist in food preparation, ordering supplies, scheduling shifts, and monitoring inventory levels. You would assist in overseeing the Beatty and Kelley Ice Cream Parlor and weeknight Country Style Dinner.
Responsibilities:
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen area always.
• Order materials, supplies, and ingredients based on demand.
• Assist in supervising kitchen employees and organizing food orders.
• Oversee the food preparation and cooking process.
• Train kitchen employees in designated stations.
• Monitor inventory levels and conduct a yearly inventory.
• Schedule work shifts for employees.
• Store all food products in compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Serving food to guests.
• Assist in menu preparation for B&K Restaurant.
Requirements:
• A minimum of 1 year experience in a similar role.
• Hands-on experience with planning menus and ordering food supplies and ingredients
• In-depth knowledge of kitchen health and safety regulations.
• Ability to work well in a stressful and fast-paced environment.
• Excellent problem-solving and conflict-management abilities.
• Outstanding communication and organizational skills.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
• ServSafe Certification
• Food Handlers Certification
Physical Requirements
• Ability to stand and walk around for 8-hour shifts
• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds and bend, reach, and stretch as required to perform specific duties
Schedule/Benefits
• 32-40 hours a week – Weekends and evenings will be required.
• $14-$16 an hour based on experience
