Under the direct supervision of the Bookstore Manager, the Conq Shop Clerk will assist with the day-to-day activities of the Conq Shop, specifically in the area of merchandise and textbooks, and mail.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- To understand and commit to the Mission of the College ~ Dodge City Community College provides a student-centered learning environment where students can achieve their educational, personal, and career goals.
- Assist the Bookstore Manager with distribution of textbooks.
- Assist with ordering, displaying, inventory, and selling merchandise and supplies.
- Assist with daily outgoing mail processes.
- Perform data entry in MBS POS System and J1 system.
- Assist in maintaining the appearance of the Bookstore.
- Assist in Creating merchandise displays both on the floor and in display windows.
- Assist in maintaining the online Conq Shop and Social Media.
- Assist in the Spirit Shop in the Student Activities Center and mobile trailer.
- Provide sales assistance to customers in a professional congenial manner.
- Perform functions related to cashiering.
- Participate on College committees and attend College events.
- Assist with special projects and creating Conq Shop gift items/merchandise materials for school events and groups.
- Assist in end-of-year inventory.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED.
- Customer service skills.
- Communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Ability to work some evenings and weekends during the beginning and end of each semester, and promotional events.
- Maintain a professional appearance.
- Must obtain and maintain a valid Kansas driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Retail sales experience
- Proven ability to work with diverse populations including traditional and non-traditional students.
- Associates degree.
- Secretarial skills.
- Ability to operate POS system/cash registers, calculator, PC, iPad and apps.

Physical Requirements
- Able to stand on a 3-step ladder to restock merchandise.
- Speak clearly and audibly to individuals in person and on the telephone.
- Ability to access classroom, office, and other school locations.
- Ability to lift and carry 35 pounds over 25 feet.
- Ability to speak clearly and audibly to others at 10ft distance and on the telephone.
- Ability to stretch, bend, stoop, and kneel as required to perform the duties of this position.
- Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time.
