Short Description: The Paraprofessional Facilitator provides clerical support and training to paraprofessional employees across SKACD. This position is primarily responsible for collecting, verifying, and entering employment data for several hundred paraprofessional employees. The position also provides inservice training and/or supervisory support in school buildings. The Paraprofessional Facilitator is often the initial point of contact with new instructional paraprofessional employees and remains available to assist our paraprofessional team throughout their employment with SKACD.

Full Description: Position Duties
1. Adheres to safeguards surrounding student and employee privacy and confidentiality
2. Displays appropriate standards of behavior, dress, speech and attitude
3. Engages in prompt collaboration with teachers, administrators, employees, and other stakeholders
4. Maintains a friendly and supportive demeanor when responding to stakeholder requests
5. Provides meaningful, targeted, professional development training to instructional paraprofessionals related to the implementation of special education programs
6. Assists in the scheduling, development, delivery, and implementation of inservice training
7. Collects, records, and monitors mandatory paraprofessional inservice training logs
8. Assists newly hired paraprofessionals in completing orientation and onboarding procedures
9. Assists with processing time corrections, background checks, time cards, and member district invoicing
10. Assists in updating the classified and/or paraprofessional employee handbook
11. Collaborates willingly with other SKACD Central Office employees; works well in a team environment
12. Participates in required inservice training and professional development activities; seeks professional growth opportunities to better serve stakeholders
13. Displays proficiency in typing, copy/fax/telephone operations, and knowledge of common office
software (MS Office, Google Docs, internet browsing, email)
14. Must be self-directed, organized, friendly, and reliable
15. Reports concerns promptly to supervisor(s)
16. Complete other duties as assigned by SKACD administration
Position Location, Hours, Supervision, Salary and Benefits
● The primary worksite is the SKACD Central Office in Dodge City, KS; some travel is expected
● Typical working hours: (some flexibility is available)
○ School year: 8:00am-5:00pm, Monday-Friday.
○ Summer: 7:30am-5:00pm, Monday-Thursday; 7:30am-11:30am, Friday.

● This is full-time, classified, benefits-eligible, 12-month employment position

Position Requirements
● Education:
○ Minimum: High school diploma or equivalent and “highly qualified” status under Title 1 of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA)
○ Preferred: Associate’s degree or higher in an education or business field of study
● Licensure:
○ No licensure or certification is required for this position
● Other:
○ Preference given to candidates with experience as an instructional paraprofessional
○ Preferences given to candidates with previous customer relations experiences
○ Preference given to bilingual applicants with professional-level skills in English and Spanish
○ Must maintain a valid driver’s license and have access to reliable transportation
○ Must be able to lift 25 lbs; must be able to sit, stand, or move for extended periods
