The Weatherization Crew Member is responsible for the implementation component of the mission statement regarding the Kansas Weatherization Program. Primarily, their role involves the on-site weatherization process pertaining to the Weatherization program.

They will be well organized and conduct themselves in a professional and ethical manner in all dealings directly or indirectly related to the organization.

Specifically as it relates to the job requirements and the programs currently operated by IHS, the Weatherization Crew Member is responsible for:

• Learning all aspects of the weatherization process
• Working under the supervision and direction of the Crew Leader
• Following all IHS safety requirements at all times

Following safe work practices as program guidelines require:

• Sealing cracks around doors, windows, and foundations
• Operating blower to insulate walls and attic with blown cellulose
• Laying plastic sheeting and insulating crawl spaces
• Replacing traditional filament light bulbs with Compact Fluorescent
• Ensuring all tools and diagnostic equipment is operated in accordance with manufacturer specifications
• Continued training in the area of weatherization
