Firefighter/EMT for City of Dodge City
The City of Dodge City is accepting applications for the position of Firefighter/EMT. Applications will be used to fill a projected vacancy and to establish an eligibility list for future reference. Starting salary of $12.51 per hour (additional if NFPA Firefighter I and II certified) plus City benefit package and KP&F retirement program. Position responds to alarms and emergency medical calls to protect life and property, trains on and operates firefighting and emergency response equipment and participates in fire prevention programs. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and must possess high school degree or equivalency, valid driver’s license, and Kansas or National Registry EMT certification. NFPA Firefighter I, II and Hazmat operations certifications prefered. Previous experience and bilingual skills preferred but not required. Up to 7% additioanl salary for bilingual skills. Applicants must be able to perform heavy physical work and a multitude of movements to perform duties of this position.
