This is a Department of Nursing Service position that provides delivery of patient care with the knowledge of a Registered Nurse. Must demonstrate the clinical ability to work as Primary RN on the Unit to which assigned. Must be able to coordinates the delivery of patient care on the Unit; completes required documentation; participates in patient/family teaching and discharge planning, effectively utilizing the Nursing Process. The purpose of this position is to provide Social Work Services to the Acute Inpatient Units as well as Acute Inpatient Rehab patients as required by the State of Kansas and TJC. This position works closely with Patients, Families, Rehab Team, Physicians and other professionals to coordinate the discharge planning and rehabilitation process and assist with the integration of the patient back into the community. The social worker helps the patient and family understand the inpatient and rehabilitation process and offers emotional, social, and financial counseling while the patient is in the hospital. The social worker assists with patient and family education and identifies specific community social and health care resources that facilitate a patient in returning home. Social Work Service consults are provided on all Hospital units for psychosocial support, discharge planning, Rehab prescreening, CPS and APS reporting and crisis intervention.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Environmental Services Technician cleans patients rooms according to established procedures (or as conditions permit) which may include making beds, scouring, scrubbing, mopping, dusting, polishing and using germicides as appropriate; performs detail cleaning and sanitizing of technical equipment as assigned; assists with orientation of new personnel, including laundry and floor maintenance; maintains inventories of housekeeping supplies, assists with cleaning and shampooing of carpets and/or refinishes floors; moves beds and other non-technical equipment as requested; completes all responsibilities per Infection Control policies and practices; performs responsibilities in compliance with all safety regulations and precautions; reports all unsafe conditions and equipment that requires repair to supervisor; attends departmental meetings and in-services as required; collects soiled linen and performs other duties as assigned.

Must have strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. Effective human relations skills are required for interfacing with team members, all levels of staff, physicians, patients, families and other contacts.
