POSITION TITLE:  Radiology Technologist                                                                                    

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Radiology Technologist assists in maintenance/management of the radiology departmental service and Quality Improvement Plan in accordance with standards established by the hospital, JCAHO, state, local and federal regulatory agencies; performs and ensures patient safety while operating radiographic and fluoroscopic examinations (including tomography ), portable x-ray, and ultrasound machines and processes films; assists in the maintenance of the Radiology Policy and Procedure Manuals and refers to policy and procedure manuals for proper operation/quality control of equipment;  assists physician in detection and localization of the patient’s anatomy using the appropriate technical factors, age specific positioning and shielding techniques appropriate for infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics;  utilizes appropriate knowledge and skills necessary to effectively meet growth, development and continued clinical needs of all patients (newborns, pediatrics, adults and geriatrics);  assists/maintains stock levels, storage and safe keeping of films, files, chemicals, and patient supplies;  ensures cleanliness of equipment, work areas and assists in maintaining equipment in good working order and notifies supervisor of department equipment and supply needs;  assists in the orientation and training of new personnel and participates in continuing education programs to enhance skills and maintain credentials;  verifies doctors orders and patient ID when performing procedures;  checks for allergies to iodine/contrast medias when performing contrast studies;  labels films appropriately in regards to patient name, orientation of patient and technique utilized;  demonstrates proficiency in choosing proper dosing/equipment settings prior to x-ray procedures;  assures films/reports/patient chart is available to Radiologist/Physician;  and, performs other duties as assigned.

POSITION SUMMARY: Unit Secretary—Women’s Center

The primary purpose of the Ward Clerk/Unit Secretary position is to provide a variety of unit support functions that contribute to overall efficient operation of the nursing unit. The most important of these functions are reception, transcription, data entry, record retrieval, and the preparation and maintenance of a functional medical record for each patient. The Ward Clerk/Unit Secretary has the responsibility of reporting staffing variances, occurrences, patient and/or employee issues, work related accidents and any other unusual events to the Nursing House Supervisor or Department Director. POSITION TITLE:  Telemetry Monitor Tech – Full Time Days                                                                                                                                      

POSITION SUMMARY:

The primary purpose of the telemetry technician position is to assist the professional nursing staff by monitoring cardiac rhythms for those patients the physician has placed on telemetry. Performs various duties related to the assigned nursing unit in accordance with established Hospital Policies and Procedures. The telemetry technician has the responsibility of reporting any change in the patient’s cardiac rhythm, any unusual occurrences, patient and/or employee issues, work related accidents to the Registered Nurses and Licensed Vocational Nurses who are responsible for the delivery of patient care. QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience Required:  Previous Monitor Tech experience preferred; Certified Nursing experience helpful.

COMPETENCIES:

POSITION TITLE:  RN Recovery

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Recovery RN works directly with the physician to provide post operative duties after surgery. The case mix consists mainly of Orthopedics, ENT, General Surgery, Ophthalmology, podiatry and GYN. The Recovery RN is responsible for providing services within the scope of practice for RN in Kansas. In addition, demonstrates the primary goal of efficiently providing surgical services that exceed customer expectations and improve clinical operations.

POSITION SUMMARY:   Pharmacy Technician II (Certified) – PRN

The Pharmacy Technician provides supportive Pharmaceutical tasks for the Pharmacy Department; maintains an optimal level of pharmaceutical inventory through application of effective purchasing procedures with the appropriate contract vendors; develops and maintains external contacts which include medical service representatives from pharmaceutical companies, medical supply companies, professional peers from other Kansas hospitals, local retail outlets, programmers from pharmacy computer support system and state and federal certification inspectors;  adheres to department policies and procedures which conform to state, federal and TJC regulations;  performs specific activities required to properly handle medications in a timely manner;  assures accurate delivery of needed medications;    displays comprehensive knowledge of, and conforms to, hospital policies and procedures as well as state and federal pharmacy regulations;  maintains required compliance documentation;  promotes positive customer relations and actively contributes to a supportive and cooperative work environment; protects health and safety of staff by proper handling of chemicals and drugs;   and performs other related duties as assigned. The Pharmacy Technician assists the pharmacist in preparing and distributing medications.  The Pharmacy Technician works only under the supervision of a registered pharmacist.  They do not perform duties that can legally be performed only by a registered pharmacist.

The Food Services Worker prepares cold food items for patients in accordance with established procedures to ensure food quality; maintains a routine stock level of diet and regular cold items for use at any time; tallies cold food items, assembles/garnished trays for patients and cafeteria customers for effective presentations; rotates labels and date of perishable foods to maintain freshness of products; prepares sandwiches and deserts for cafeteria clients; set up and clean salad bar and desert area of cafeteria line; serves cold food on tray assembly line; utilized established menu portion sizes and guidelines; plans layout of salad bar for attractiveness and variety; varies the selection on the salad bar to maintain a new and different level of appeal; tries new recipes and/or new salads for the salad bar being mindful of the cost per serving; serves hot food to cafeteria clients and guest utilizing standard portion control and appropriate techniques to maintain sanitation; and performs other duties as assigned.

Degree / Licensure: Valid Kansas R.N. licensure required

Certifications: BLS; ACLS and PALS within 6 months transfer; Moderate sedation

Experience required: 1-2 years Med/Surg experience preferred.

Position Summary:  Respiratory Therapist (RRT) – Part-time

Position Description:  This is a Department of Cardiopulmonary Services position. The Cardiopulmonary Rehab RRT’S goal is to provide personal health care and related services to the patient in the hospital or outpatient setting. To assist in providing a safe and clean environment. To work cooperatively with patients and family. To share observations/problems with the RN/RRT in charge of the patient.
