<td valign="top">This position involves the planning, coordination, and supervision of the operations of the Human Resources Department.  Responsibilities include functions within the areas of recruitment, staffing, hiring, personnel development, counseling, policy administration, budget management, employment contracts, new employee orientation, record keeping, and report preparation all in accordance with established policies and procedures. Dodge City Community College employs approximately 250 employees.This is a full-time twelve-month position.  Application review will begin immediately. <td valign="top">Successful candidates will possess excellent communication and human relations skills; have a general understanding of state and federal laws pertaining to human resources, practical application of employment laws and regulations. Must have technology skills as required by the position, particularly with word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software.Minimum of five (5) years previous Human Resource experience required including staff selection and staff evaluation.  Bachelor’s degree in human resources, education, or related field required, but a combination of education and professional experience may be considered.</td>

<p>On behalf of the Dodge City Community College Board of Trustees, we are pleased announce the search for the next president of Dodge City Community College.  The Board is committed to conducting an equitable, participatory, inclusive and fair search that will attract a strong pool of presidential candidates both regionally and nationally. </p>
<p>We are committed to undertaking a process that will allow us to keep the college community informed and involved.  We will keep the College informed through the distribution of regular progress reports, the posting of information on the College’s web page, and during my formal reports provided during the regular meetings of the Board. </p>
<p><strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong>The Presidential Search Committee</strong></p>
<p>We have selected a Presidential Search Committee which is an inclusive and representative group of individuals including community members, faculty and staff.  If you would like to provide input to the committee, the names and contact numbers of the search committee may be obtained by contacting Ms. Sheila Bergkamp, human resources officer, for the college.</p>
<p>The Presidential Search Committee charge includes reviewing applications and presenting recommendations on candidates for consideration. This is a working committee and members will participate in at least one three-hour meeting, two full days of application reviews and two full days of candidate interviews. The first meeting of the Presidential Search Committee is being scheduled for later this month.</p>
<p><strong>Conducting a National Search</strong></p>
<p>This is one of the most important decisions for all of us and it will decide the direction of the College for years to come. We are delighted to have selected the Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT) to assist us with presidential search process.  ACCT has conducted over 300 community college search and brings a wealth of information to our process.  ACCT’s mission is to strengthen community college governance through education, advocacy and service. Our Search Consultants are Dr. Narcisa A. Polonio, Vice President, ACCT and Julie Golder Alion, J.D., ACCT Board Leadership Services Specialist.</p>
<p><strong>Placement of Ads</strong></p>
<p>Meanwhile, we are moving forward with the preparation and placement of advertisements announcing the vacancy in the <em>Chronicle of Higher Education</em> and other higher education publications. We anticipate placing the completed position profile on the College’s web site soon after we hold public forums to receive input from the College. </p>

<td valign="top">Dodge City Community College is seeking a full-time Electrical Power Technology Program Instructor.  Under the general supervision of the Associate Dean of Technical Education, the Instructor of the Electrical Power Technology Program will engage in a variety of learning support and instructional/institutional practices; recruit, advise and mentor students by providing a positive and encouraging environment for learning; and, work collaboratively with the technical center and area electrical power industries.  The instructional load may consist of day/night classes, ITV/distance learning,  and on and off campus classes dealing with subject areas.  Instructor must be able to design and implement new courses to curriculum as needed.</td>

<td width="138" valign="top">Desired qualifications:</td>
<td valign="top">Bachelor’s degree in technical area and/or appropriate certification and work related experience; proven ability to work with diverse populations including traditional and non-traditional students; ability to demonstrate excellent people skills and oral and written communication skills; ability to work with groups, organizations, and institution; computer skills and ability to use technology in the classroom; and must maintain a valid Kansas driver’s license.</td>
